Fiber – Knitted Hats, Socks, Scarves

Elsie (Nana) Tierney, my paternal grandmother, taught me to knit when I was 8 years old and recovering from the measles. Nana was an expert who knitted countless sweaters for me and my siblings from our infant days. I’m sure the knitting lessons were intended as a distraction; however, I’ve knitted consistently throughout my life. I always like to have a knitting project going. Knitting has been a common thread of my creative expression. I find the repetitive rhythm of knitting comforting, peaceful, and meditative.
